Cary, North Carolina Estate Planning Information and Divorce Resources

From our office located conveniently in Cary, North Carolina, the attorneys at The Hart Law Firm can work with our clients in a number of different practice areas, including estate planning and divorce. On this page, we’ve attempted to provide helpful links to the relevant estate planning information and resources that you will need to guide you through preparing an effective estate plan.

We do this because we want to work with educated consumers. So before you pick up the phone to call our office for an initial wealth planning session, we want you to be educated about your needs and really think through what you are trying to accomplish by hiring an estate planning lawyer. You don’t need to have a JD behind your name, but a basic understanding of what estate planning is all about will make this process much easier for you.

For that reason, we’ve created a library of resources here on our website to help you in your journey.  Feel free to look around and click on the links below to learn more about our estate planning and divorce practices, and how we can help your family here at The Hart Law Firm.

Estate Planning Information and Resources

There are so many different estate planning strategies that you may want to consider as you begin to craft your estate plan.  This is a great overview page of the estate planning process, and the different “must have” documents you will need before you do anything else.

Information for Young Families

You don’t have to have minor children to put an estate plan in place, but if you do have minor children, even teenagers, an estate plan is absolutely essential. This page provides an overview of the planning solutions we offer to our young families.

Children’s Protection Planning

When planning for families, many lawyers stop at drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, etc. Not here. We work with our families with children to prepare an important and vital set of planning documents and instructions that would be given to temporary and permanent caregivers in the event you are no longer able to care for your children.

Asset Protection

You don’t necessarily need to be facing a lawsuit to require asset protection. With the help of an estate planning lawyer, effective asset protection strategies can be employed to protect you from future creditors, taxes, divorce, etc. The key to effective asset protection is planning now, before there is a threat.

Probate and Estate Administration

We hope you never lose a loved one, but when that time comes, you will need a lawyer to help you navigate the probate process, or if a proper plan was put in place, to effectively help you ensure that your loved one’s trust is administered properly.

The Legacy Conversation™

When many people think about estate planning, they think about managing property and assets. At The Hart Law Firm, we believe that estate planning is much more than that. Effective planning should also consider your voice, your stories, your values and those other intangibles that you want to leave your loved ones with. As such, we have developed a process to capture these memories and leave them for your loved ones when you are gone.

Divorce Wills

Our practice was founded on helping families going through the pain of divorce. It is only natural that we now offer “divorce wills” to individuals who are thinking about divorce, or who have already started the process.

Divorce in North Carolina

Divorce is a complicated and scary process. We have put together a number of resources to help you navigate the process, including information on equitable distribution, alimony, post-separation support, separation agreements, child custody, child support, collaborative divorce and more.
