North Carolina Divorce Assessment

You are here: Home / Divorce Resources / North Carolina Divorce Assessment
North Carolina Divorce Assessment

Please note that effective January 1, 2022 we are not accepting any new family law clients.

Before you go any further, if you haven’t already done so, please take a moment to order a copy of my new book, Next Steps: Prepare Yourself for Divorce and Hire the Right Lawyer for Your Case.

Done?  Ok, now you can read on…

Making the decision to separate from your spouse should not be taken lightly. And whether you are just starting to think about a divorce or have been considering ending your marriage for years, it’s a safe bet that this is not a decision that you can make on your own.

The divorce assessment may be just what you need. You can schedule your assessment from the comfort of your own home by using our convenient online scheduler. This is an opportunity for you to sit down with a divorce lawyer to talk about your current situation and why you are considering a divorce.

We will ask you lots of probing questions to determine what the best strategy will be for you moving forward. For some people that may mean doing some pre-separation planning. For others, it may mean beginning the process of separating from your spouse.

Regardless of where you are in the process, we can help you to determine what the best course of action is for you moving forward.

This meeting will most often take between 45 minutes to an hour. At the end of the meeting, we will decide whether we are a good fit to work together. If so, we will ask you to execute an employment contract and we will collect an initial payment.

Lawyers are not inexpensive. Our initial fees vary from between $2,500 to $10,000 depending on the issues of your case and whether or not you anticipate going to court.

After we have agreed to work together, and you have formally retained our firm, we will go over the next steps which will include a more detailed intake meeting to conduct a comprehensive review of the facts of your case.

100%, No Risk, No Hassle Guarantee. If you come in, meet with me, and decide, for whatever reason, that you aren’t completely thrilled and satisfied with the Divorce Assessment that you have been given, we won’t charge you for the Assessment. This Guarantee is very straightforward and no-nonsense. There’s no teeny-tiny fine print. If you aren’t happy with the Assessment, let me know and we won’t charge you. Period.
